On Sunday morning the family ventured up the Columbia River Gorge for breakfast at Charburger, where we watched barges make thier way up the river and enjoyed the view. Then it was on to the Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery. This place is gorgeous and really special. The grounds are just plain lovely and so are the old brick administration buildings. There is also a visitors center where you can watch the Salmon swim up the salmon ladder. Brooke was a bit scared of the giant sturgeon at first, but then she came to love Herman - the 65 year old big 'un of 'em all. We fed the rainbow trout and then Brooke took her first sips from a fancy water fountain. Hadley slept through most of it all. Brooke even made up a song about Herman and it goes a little something like this: "Hermannnnnn, where are you? Hermannnnnn, hiding."

Mmmmm- Who doesn't love a delicious drink from a drinking fountain!
Wade made fun of me for drinking out of that fountain. He was waiting for me to get 'the Revenge' afterward. But, no worries, all was fine.
