Saucer Envy

Hadley likes standing so much, we got the exersaucer out last night to let her give it a try. A certain someone else spotted it right away this morning and has spent much of day in it. Sigh....



Her head is so big and heavy, it droops after a few minutes.

SCORE! We have had this depressing electric range that came with our house for the past 4 years. We HATED it. It had no controls to speak of, food would fall in between the burners and burn, pots would not balance on the burners and every time we cooked something in the oven, it would set the smoke alarm off. The range we had in mind was a nice gas range, but at $650-ish, we couldn't justify buying one when the ugly beast electric range techinically worked, i.e., cooked the food.

Well, Blake did some sleuthing on craigslist and found this awesome deal! It is a beauty and it was only $75!!!! The owners even gave us extra new burner trays and the manuals and it is in pristine condition. We are SO EXCITED!

So - Brooke wore this outfit at 5 months old and here is Hadley wearing at less than 3 months!




We have started placing Hadley in the highchair occasionally. She is still pretty small for it. She was not quite as excited as Brooke was to be in it....

Happy Friday!

Brooke REALLY wants to wear Hadley's cute sunflower Robeez. I love Hadley's little smile here - it looks like she is thinking "Keep trying, Big Sister, but they won't fit you!".

Movies

It has been raining the last few days, cutting into our outside time. Brooke has become fascinated with bringing me the Disney DVD's in our entertainment center. We have Toy Story 1 & 2, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and couple of others. She LOVES to point out things on the DVD covers. We have started to watch a couple of them. Her attention span is about 30 minutes so far, with LOTS of wiggling going on. While I am not encouraging video watching, I certainly don't mind putting them on occasionally for her. Hadley likes to take naps during them, and just like her mom, Hadley likes to nap to football, too!

Wardrobe Envy

Hadley is less than three months old and yet she is completely filling out 3-6 month outfits!!! Brooke was inspecting Hadley's outfit today, looking for "bows" (her new word) and sort of agitated that Hadley was wearing shoes with "flowders" that she couldn't cram on her own feet.

Monday

Well....after three 95+ degree days in a row, it is now raining. Wonderful.....

In other news, Hadley is BLASTING through Brooke's baby clothes we had saved for her. She has pretty much bypassed the size 0-3 months in a matter of weeks.

By the way, one of Brooke's most endearing traits is that she ASKS FOR NAPS!!!!

Brooke got her first pigtails today and now I know why they are called that. It was like wrestling a wild pig to get her hair like this!

2 Month Check-Up

Miss Hadley Grace Elizabeth had her 2 month check-up (about 12 days late). All is well and she is packing on the pounds and growing like mad. She was born at 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21.5 inches long. She is now 13 pounds, 14 ounces and 25 inches long!!!! WOW!!! For reference, Brooke was 10 pounds, 10 ounces and 23.5 inches long at her 2 month appointment.
