She is really getting the hang of it.

The most wonderful dog in the world.

Brooke has discovered Thor and it is love at first sight. She wants to be held up by her armpits to stand on the floor so she can WALK OVER to Thor. She is five months old, for cryin' out loud! The ecstatic smiles and squeals she bestows upon Thor make me green with envy. These photos don't do the situation justice, I hope to post video soon.

Cool-A-Roo Part Deux

Here is a flip book like progression of Playing Brooke transitioning to Sleeping Brooke....

Brooke on the Cool-A-Roo

The weather has warmed up - Brooke is in her sundress, and yes, she is lounging on the Cool-A-Roo, which is like a doggy hammock....

She had a very good time playing around on it, eventually falling asleep (!) on it. I am glad they are getting some use, since we have FOUR of them.....

Bathing Beauty

Brooke and I will be taking Mommy and Me Swim Lessons next month. Here she is modeling her new suit! I love her chubby little legs. While taking these photos, I realized how good she is at sitting up... I bet she will be doing this on her own very soon.

Couple of typical evening activities....

These are the regular night time activities - playing in the Bumbo chair, putting on jammies, playing on the activity mat and exersaucer, and bath time.

Gettin' Crafty

I am not crafty....I have done two crafty items since graduating from grade school- one being a 4" x 6" picture frame with sea shells glued to it (made for my friend Annie) and the other being a set of Christmas tree ornaments (paper and glitter) made from a Martha Stewart Living pattern. Not a stellar track record. But - I am trying something new. Last Sunday I took a one-hour knitting lesson. I am in the midst of knitting a baby blanket and here it is in progress. I will keep you posted.

Uh oh....Is she gonna be a "biter"?!

The joys of a bumbo chair and a few leis to chew on....

Easter Weekend Recap

Easter weekend started off right with a gorgeous 80 degree day on Friday. Blake's cousins Erika and Anne-Marie and Anne-Marie's fiance Wade came to visit. We spent a few hours that night at the hotel down the street - Edgefield. Very fun. The rest of the weekend was spent playing with Brooke and lounging around. Easter Sunday was celebrated with the First Annual Easter Luau. Lava Flows, pulled pork and leis - whoo hoo! Thank you Wade, Anne-Marie and Erika for coming to visit!!

It's a girl!

Hooray! Pictures of Brooke in girly clothes! The weather is finally warming up and it was time to get some fresh air on those little legs. She is also wearing her new Easter shoes from Grandma Mary.

Fussy Pants

Lest you think Brooke is nothing but smiles and sunshine all the time....

Ladies Day

Brooke and I joined three lovely ladies for a walk this past Saturday - Rachel, Lindsey and Lindsey's beautiful little girl Amelia Jane, who is about three weeks younger than Brooke. The weather was a little cool, but very refreshing and we walked through a very nice SE Portland neighborhood near Reed College. It was so great to be out and about and Brooke loved looking at and listening to ladies besides her own mom.

The picture of the toy horses is a festive Portland thing - a local artist goes around and attaches toy horses to actual old-school horse tie-up rings that are still left over around town. It is so cool to come upon them unexpectedly. They always make me smile! Someone had given these two little guys some water. :)

One last note - my poor bald baby! It will be years before she can wear a great bow like Amelia's.....

Big girl stuff.

Miss Brookie had a new item delivered over the weekend. Her highchair! She has been very interested in watching Blake and I eat and her teacher told us she tried to swipe her buddy Carson's cereal spoon at school. Carson is built like a Mack truck, so we knew she must be serious about this eating thing if she was willing to mess with his food delivery system.

It arrived on Friday afternoon and she watched me put it together. When I actually placed her in the chair she went nuts! She was so excited and was smiling so big. It is times like that that remind me there is a mind thinking away about things behind that cute smile. She had been waiting to sit at the table with us. She enjoyed her first snack of organic pureed sweet peas!
