We just had to get out on Sunday. We ran around the property and listened to the frogs. Brooke busted out her raincoat and boots (poor Hadley has neither, such is life as the second baby). Brooke toted around a n*ked Snow White doll and dunked her in the puddles - not as nice as the Edgefield soaking pool, that is for sure. We told Hadley we were going to the restaurant for pizza and she kept asking for it pitifully. The girl loves her pizza. After splashing in the puddles and looking for frogs, we escaped the downpour while sitting on the porch of the manor and then went inside to look at all the art.
If you ever come to visit us here in Troutdale, we will take you there. The paintings and murals are of the people that used to live on the property when it was a retirement home. I enjoy reading the old newspaper clippings framed on the walls and seeing how the Edgefield artists depict the former residents. One fun fact - back in the day, it cost $.07 PER MEAL to feed the residents!
