8 Tidbits

My 2.5 Year Old:

1. Makes no attempt to dress herself. It is like dressing a 35 pound bag of jello.

2. Loves to speculate what is in the semi-trucks we see on the road between school and home. #1 guess is "BINKIES" followed by "That is a lot of binkies!" #2 guess is peanut butter.

3. Likes to announce when she can see Mt. Hood, of which we get an AWESOME view of on clear afternoons on our way home. She also points out Mt. Hood within the various logos we see around town.

4. Places her toys, shoes, food etc. face down and says "My ______ is sad." or "My _______ is crying."

5. Is beginning to speak to her sister like she is an actual person.

6. Sobs and says she needs her Daddy when I ask her to do something she doesn't want to do.

7. Enjoys reading books before bedtime while sitting in my lap in the rocking chair. She folds her hands on her lap and it KILLS me with cuteness.

8. Frequently declares "My baby is coming out!" and when asked what kind of baby it is, she says "Baby Jesus!". This is a strange dialogue resulting from her teacher having a baby and reading the Nativity story to her at Christmas.

My 11 month old:

1. Still refuses to hold her bottle. Ever.

3. Shows signs of sleeping through the night on a regular basis.

4. Loves popcorn more than any other food. Popcorn - the least baby-friendly food there is. She also showed much joy when given her first french fry. She held it in her fist, waved it around in between bites and raised it to the sky while beaming lovingly at it.

5. Would probably climb INSIDE the TV if it were possible. She stands approx. 1" from the TV when it is on. I hate that.

6. Makes Brooke's story time impossible when she is in the room. She wants to grab the book away from us or spends the rest of the time crawling around bonking herself on things and wailing. Poor Brooke.

7. Waves "bye-bye" backwards.

8. Still will sleep on my chest in the night, holding my necklace...just like she did at one day old.
